Bank History
First
Savings Bank has been in the banking business for 91 years and is a family
owned business. Our Corporate Charter was issued to First National Bank of
Beresford, South Dakota and incorporated on January 3, 1913. In 1989, the
bank went from First National Bank charter to a First Savings Bank charter
and is under the regulation of the Office of Thrift Supervision.
We
continue to grow in areas and products and services to make banking more
convenient for our customers to do their banking while vacationing, visiting
relatives or friends or if they are relocating. We are excited about
our newest location in El Paso, TX - Our El Paso Westside Branch.
In
1995, in addition to the branch locations we had in SD we purchased four
banks located in Deming, Silver City, Truth or Consequences, and Las Cruces,
New Mexico. We also opened a new location in Sioux Falls, SD in 1995.
Then
in 1996, the bank purchased banks located in Alamogordo and Ruidoso, New
Mexico.
In
1999, the bank opened a new bank in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as one in El
Paso, Texas.
Then
in August 2002, a bank was purchased in Omaha, Nebraska.
In May
2003, another new branch in El Paso, TX, was opened and on August 18, 2003,
First Savings Bank opened a bank in Lake Havasu City.
We
offer various products and services to fit the needs of today’s busy world,
such as checking, savings, CDs, loans, Internet banking, ExecuBanc
(Internet banking for business customers), safe deposit boxes (not available
at all banks), and many more services.
We
have branch locations in the following states: South Dakota, Nebraska, New
Mexico, Texas, Nevada and Arizona.
